Casciana Terme
The first time I went to Casciana Terme, I made my husband stop the car many times so I could take photographs of the beautiful panorama.
The town is very small with one big square with its church, the entrance to the old fashioned bar/coffee house from the hotel of Terme de Casciana and just a few shops. It is famous for its lime-sulfur termal waters at 37c. It is said that Contessa Matilde of Canossa discovered the termal waters. Apparently she had a sick blackbird, that all of the sudden started to improve in appearance. She decided to follow the bird. She saw the bird dipping into the steaming waters. She called the steaming waters "the miraculous waters", and decided to built many pools which were the first beginnings of the plants we see today.

Bottega del Gusto
Every time we go to Casciana Terme for a relax day at the thermal pool and sauna, we have to stop by Bottega del Gusto, and say hello to Cinzia, the owner of this wonderful panini and wine gourmet shop. The first time we went there, she was extremely nice and welcoming. She prepared for us a dish of cheeses, and cold meats of the Tuscan region. This of course was accompanied by a nice glass of wine.
The shop has a wonderful collection of wines, honeys, pickled veggies from the Tuscan area, sauces, pates, etc... The list goes on and on. Stop by, and say hello To Cinzia! She always has a beautiful and warm smile to welcome you into her shop. Terme di Casciana

Stress is making you scream out the window, or your take your hand out the window and motion the diverse hand signals that Italians do. Well, I will say you need a nice swim, followed by a sauna! It is not expensive! There is a deal price for those two items together. However, if your budget is a plus, then go for the candy bar and get the many services they offer. Here is their link! |
