You do not want to eat in those places I call "TOURIST TRAPS", so where to go, what to eat, what to try! Those are the same questions I ask to myself when I go to a new city. I want to eat their authentic cuisine. I am picky! I look at the dessert list to see if I would like the place. It is bad... I know! To judge a place for its sweetness but I do. Here, I will share my favorite places for their friendliness, food, service, price which is important if you are traveling with your gang plus pets, atmosphere, etc.

GelaterieGelato time! I like to indulge in a delicious gelato right after lunch before I have my cappuccino,or in the early evening after dinner, or on my way to the movies.
Which places then? 1. Il Gelato, Lungarno Gambacorti 13 ( My flavor here is Ginger ) 2. La bottega del Gelato, a Piazza Garibaldi ( Almonds ) 3. Peter Pan Via Luigi Bianci ( Ricotta and figs ) Coffee timeCoffee time is a ritual for Italians. In fact, Italy is full of them. They call the coffee houses "bar". Any where you go, pretty much you will have a good cup of coffee.
However, I learnt that to know if the place is really good, the cups should be atop of the coffee machine to maintain them warm. Also the pastries should be fresh. I decided to rate them by their price, their hospitality and their spremuta ( fresh orange juice). |
